Rock On - Live Your Dream

Yes it is a movie review. I was planning to see this since I heard Farhan has sung 6 out of 8 Songs( I managed to watch it twice despite my busy office schedule). I dont care what 'Stars' say but Yes I am in for this one. It was a Sunday that I went on this one for in PVR Goregaon (read Oberoi Mall) with 'Kashyap 'the King' Bellur. I was hungry so had a full Sizzler at 'Simply Sizzlers' at the Food Court on 3rd Floor. Kashyap was cursing me as we got the seats in the front row. I said the movie is worth the sacrifice. Let's check out how it was.

Guys this is my blog so dont expect Taran Adarsh out of it. It starts with the Undrergroundish Rehearsal Pad of the Band Magik and believe me the place rocks. It is a slow paced movie with lots of flashback attacks. The story revolves around 4 friends Aditya Shroff (FA), Joe (AR), KD (Purab Kohli) and Rob (Luke Skywalker oops Kenny). It is a pleasure to see them perform in the first concert as well as during the Fund raising Dandiya!!

All's well and they get a chance to perform at a Channel [V] talent Hunt. The competition from the great Bangalore band " Chakravyooh" and the Song they sing is Zehreelay. I thought Taz from Stereo Nation is the backend for this one but again Farhan rocks here too. They have a crowd humming number " Meri Laundry ka ek Bill" to gain instant roar from the rock hungry crowd. They manage to clinch the title and get a chance to get themselves an album with a "Sadoo" Producer and the 'Darling' Director.

Guys take a break you will have to watch it here as I am sure this one is quite predictable if I say this " Aditya is the real Star among Magik" As Expected results in a spat between Joe and Adi and leads to start of misfortunes and fall of Magik and Quantum leap in their lives.

A decade later Sakshi, Adi's wife played by Prachi Desai decides to reunite when she gets amazed by their histors when she accidently bumps into the above Photograph of the Band full on. Yes, magic is recreated and this time in style with Adi's plush Cuff Parade house as the rehearsal pad.

It is evident that they are gonna rock this time. A little Hindi Film twist here in the form of Rob diagnosed of Grade 4 Brain Tumor and Deby (Joe's wife) forcing him to join him at Blueline cruises as a Guitarist make a very predictable Climax.

It's 24th July and dude it is rocking with the Slow number Tum Ho to hai Zindagi dedicated to Deby by Joe is sung by the magical voice of Aditya. Rob performs with the band for the last time with a bang here. Joe like a typical movie lives his dream and reaches out to Magik just in time for the Final Rocker "Sinbad the Sailor".

Man this one is a treat to watch as the camera glances are awesome and undoubtedly Shankar Ehsaan Loy have left no ground for mistakes.

The verdict:
I would recommend this movie to all youngsters not beacuse it is something inspiring but yes it is a long awaited 'F5' in lives of many long lost buddies planning to reunite and create Magik. I just got the feeling of watching Dil Chahta Hai part Two with this one.

So rush to the theatres as the pirated rock music doesnt sound Magik on even Creative Sound Blaster.
