Top 10 Places to Eat in Mumbai: My List

Finally a post on my eating habits. This is not a restaurant review kind of post but yet it gives you a sneek peak from my point of view. I love being at these places over and again and always introduce new people to these food heavens. Here is the Showdown:

10.) Kailash Parbat (Opposite Infiniti Mall, Andheri West)

Well go here for the Punjabi food. It's speciality is Dal Makhani & Paneer Tikka Masala. The chaats are awesome too. Do try lassi and Chaas. Only drawback somewhat slow service when it is full of guests. It has a pleasing ambience and convinient location.

9.) Urban Tadka (Versova Link Road, Andheri West)

This is a place to be with friends to dine and to drink. The great ambience and some really cool Bhangda happeing inside plus a welcome drink to offer this is really my favorite place near juhu beach.

8.)Bombay Blue & Copper Chimney (Kala Ghoda, Fort, Mumbai)

Well these pairs are the best suited for the flamboyant foodie types. Together they cater the gastronomical needs of both continental & traditional foodies. Copper Chimney is awarded the Best Restaurant by Times Food Guide too. Bombay Blue has some great Pastas, Chinese, Indian and Mexican Cuisine to offer along with the greatest Iced-Tea I have ever had in Mumbai. Do try the World-Best Nachos there.

7.) Madras Cafe (Kings Circle, Matunga West)

Authentic South Indian food I rate it the best for Dosas and Idlis across Bombay. Located in the heart of the city, it was started during pre-independence days. This place is very popular as a breakfast destination by the people of Town. Try Raagi-Dosa apart from regular Masala & Mysore Masala and ofcourse the Filter Caafi(Coffee).

6.)Ruby Tuesday (Ground Floor, The mall which has Inox, Churchgate)

The best American food I have tasted the american way too. Burgers, Pizzas, Garlic Breads, Ice Teas, Coffees, Pastries etc all served in the very american style with a great ambience and cool music. Try the Combos and Mocktails if you are not going for Beers and Breezers.

5.) Rajdhani (Inorbit Mall, Malad West)

If you have a large appetite and you have a taste for Good Gujrati food, you must reach out to the best place to have the food which I am sure you will remember for long. It has a Thali System which don't have any choice but it is great that it is unlimited and tasty. You will end up with atleast 9-10 dishes in your plate at the end of the Food Sprint, apart from the sweets.

4.)New Yorker (Charni Road)

Well I have been here just once and I am a fan of this one. This all veg restaurant has a great sea facing location in Chowpatty and a great Continental Cuisine to offer. Even the Bombay Sandwich is awesome. Try the daily specials too they are yummy. Altogether a fine place for friends or even couples in the lovely background of the sea.

3.) Pizza Hut, Hiranandani Gardens, Mumbai

I love Pizzas and you cant find a gastronomically active person devoid of Pizza Hut-Pizzas. You find a good ambience with the plush Hiranandani vicinity and the staff here is also very caring. Look out for a Sofa Seat and enjoy the music and have your Full Punjabi Pizza with a Pitcher of Masala Lemonade. I bet you will come again, this one sure is the fav spot of all Nomurans.

2.)Kinara Resort (Mira Road, WE Highway Mumbai)
Been Here, Done that and Loved it. Its a quite busy place being on the W.E Highway to Ahemadabad. It has a great ambience of a large open area as well as large covered area with a lot of fun-filled activities for everyone going around. You will find Machaans and Manjhas here also Magic Shows for kids and Fresh Jalebis being made. Try Paneer Sathay here and some good veg & non-veg starters along with a lot of Indian mouth watering punjabi delicacies. Also roam around the place as it is very scenic in itself.

1.) The Village (Raghuleela Mall, Kandivali West)

I have been here more than 10 times now and this one still is the numero uno in terms of Food, Ambience, Fun Activities, Recreation, Cost effectiveness etc etc etc. The all veg restaurant boasts of a large area and great indian rajasthani food. You will love the other dishes like the Dosas too. It currently has an entry ticket of 325/- for a person with which you can stay in from 7-11 PM till they finally shut shop. Enjoy Festive lunches, Voarcious Meals, Family get togethers, Kitties even dates here. You will see a magician, Tarot reader, a mehendi artist, a candy-man, chai wallah, Biscope, all here under one roof. In all a whole Village under the sun. They personally take care of you by asking you "Aur kuch saab?" Do try Barf ka Golla and Mithi Chaas.

So isn't that tingling review of some of the great restaurants in Amchi Mumbai. Fortunately or Unfortunately I am a vegetarian so please dont give me reviews about Delhi Darbar, Kebab Corner, Kareem's, Ayub's and other Non-Veg famous joints.

Also worth mentioning are the Buffet Lunch of Saffron Spice, Powai and Evening Buffet of Rodas Galleria, Hiranandani Powai.

Hope that this is enough for a month's eationary will write soon about my discoveries of elegant but not so famous ones!!
